Experience the grandest Sydney tradition of all this New Year’s Eve, with divine music and exquisite singing against a backdrop of sparkling harbour views under the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

The Opera Gala at the Sydney Opera House on New Year’s Eve is the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of 2012 in true operatic style, in the company of a spectacular array of artists performing the greatest hits of opera. It is an evening of glamour and spectacle, big emotions and beautiful music with arias and ensembles from Bizet, Puccini, Verdi and many more. Actor, comedian and writer Jonathan Biggins hosts a fantastic line-up of opera stars including Emma Matthews, Elvira Fatykhova, Rosario La Spina, Carlo Barricelli and Joshua Bloom, with Andrew Greene conducting the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. The Opera Gala includes a specially-timed interval for the 9pm fireworks allowing you to take full advantage of the exclusive viewing points of Sydney Harbour.

Make your evening truly memorable by joining us for our famous Pre-Gala Dinner and The Midnight Party in the Northern Foyer of the Sydney Opera House.
