Each year Opera Australia present fundraising events in Sydney and Melbourne aimed at raising essential revenue to support the opera performers and creative teams that bring the magic of opera to life. Opera Australia's range of opera fundraising events includes opera galas in Sydney and Melbourne, an online opera auction, backstage tours, fine wines, gourmet menus, intimate dinners and exclusive opera performances.

The Opera Gala, Sydney - Sunday 23 October 2011

Step out of your seat, onto the stage and into the very heart of opera. Join Opera Australia for an exclusive behind the scenes experience.

This year, for the only available night of the year, Opera Australia will delve deep into the heart of the Sydney Opera House and present guests with an unforgettable and exclusive behind the scenes occasion. Guests will enjoy a once in a lifetime experience as they are treated to this rare insight of life under the spotlight as they dine on the stage of the Opera Theatre.

The Opera Theatre stage will be transformed into a theatrical scene of enchanting opera. Guests will be treated to gourmet food by celebrity Head Chef Matt Moran and performances by a host of Opera Australia stars. They will be seated amongst set pieces from the current opera – creating one of the most unique dining experiences. Artists will perform from the auditorium - the ultimate role reversal! Dinner on the Stage, Melbourne - Sunday 13 November 2011

Dinner on the Stage is an exclusive new Melbourne event for Opera Australia’s Patrons, Corporate VIPs, government representatives and high net worth Melbourne Society on stage at the Arts Centre. Guests are invited to dine on stage, on one of the elaborate sets surrounded by props and backstage intrigue.  With a rare view out to the theatre auditorium, Opera Australia provides a memorable ‘money-can’t-buy’ experience to its most valuable stakeholders.

Black-Tie guests are entertained by Opera Australia’s favourite stars and dine on superb food, matched with premium wines.  Sold out and with a waiting list in 2010, Dinner on the Stage has become a desirable new Gala evening for our discerning Melbourne audiences.
