Jodie McGuren

Background: Bachelor of Music Education, Sydney Conservatorium, 1995. Took further operatic study in England and an Italian language degree in Italy. Was in the final six in the ABC’s Operatunity Oz Program. Following her TV success, secured a role in Dead Man Walking with Alexander Productions

OA repertoire: Kätchen: Werther. Full-time member of the Opera Australia Chorus since 2007

Other Companies: Queen of the Night: Die Zauberflöte (Pacific Opera); Olympia: The Tales of Hoffmann (Sydney University Musical Society). Performs regularly as a soloist with the Sydneian Festival Choir, The American-Briton Society, and Worldprojects. Solo concert work includes the Mozart C Minor Mass, Bach B Minor Mass, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and the Monteverdi Vespers. Will perform soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 and in Poulenc’s Stabat Mater in the Opera House Concert Hall later this year
