Verdi's La traviata is one of the world's most adored and frequently performed operas. The heart-breaking tale of the beautiful courtesan asked to give up the love of her life for the sake of his reputation has been told many times (remember Pretty Woman), but never so movingly as with Verdi’s sweeping music.
