WORK EXPERIENCE - SYDNEY

Work experience takes place at The Opera Centre in Surry Hills, Sydney.

Work experience placements are available only during the Sydney Winter Season. 2013 dates are as follows:

Sydney Winter Season: Monday 3 June - Saturday 2 November

Placements may also be available in the fortnight leading up to the start of the Sydney Winter Season.

We encourage applications from secondary school students for work experience placements of one-week periods only, from Monday to Friday.

Supervised by the Human Resources Assistant, work experience students are given the opportunity to help with or observe work being completed in various departments, from Orchestra Management to Development, Marketing, Publicity or Artistic.

Where the schedule allows, students may observe rehearsals at The Opera Centre. If a chaperone is available students may also have the opportunity to observe rehearsals at the Sydney Opera House and, if time permits, be given a backstage tour of the Opera House.

We also encourage applications for longer-term internships/secondments from tertiary students studying music, performance, arts administration, arts management or stage management.
