WORK EXPERIENCE
Thinking of a career in the arts?
Each year a limited number of work experience placements are available at The Opera Centre in Sydney and The Opera Centre in Melbourne.
Due to the large number of applications received, we are not able to accept all students who apply.
The aim of work experience at Opera Australia is to give students an overall feel for how an opera company is run and to give students an opportunity to appreciate the work that is involved behind the scenes.
Application Process for Work Experience
Applications must include the following information:
- whether you are applying for a placement in Sydney or Melbourne
- proposed dates for work experience
- school/University contact details
- the contact details of your work experience co-ordinator
- any relevant work experience
- your area of study/interest e.g. arts administration, stage management, drama, music or singing.
Applicants must also write a paragraph or so outlining the reasons why they wish to do work experience at Opera Australia in particular.
