GEEK IN RESIDENCE

Opera Australia seeks applicants for the newly established role of Geek in Residence to assist the Company in developing several online initiatives over a 12 months period.

These projects include building on the Company’s current social media activity, developing an opera-based interactive game and improving existing online portals for multimedia access.

The position holder will work as a member of the Marketing Department and liaise with key staff across the Company including external designers and photographers.  They will be required to coordinate and conduct training sessions prior to, during and following the implementation of programs and initiatives.

Applicants must possess strong technical and project management qualifications and experience, together with a demonstrated understanding of digital marketing principals and practices.  They will have experience working with game software and experience with results-driven project management.

The successful applicant will have studies in industry related IT/Marketing and Communication and a good understanding of Google Analytics.  Knowledge of the arts industry in Australia or familiarity with opera would be desirable for this 12 month fulltime position based at The Opera Centre, Surry Hills.
