Gianluca graduated in piano subsequently dedicating himself to studying opera singing, establishing himself in several competitions, among which was the “Riccardo Zandonai” Contest in Rovereto. Currently he continues to improve his singing under Maria Cristina Orsolato’s guidance in Verona.

After his debut in Rome inIl barbiere di Siviglia, we would like to mention Madama Butterfly (Pinkerton) and Nabucco (Ismaele) in the Circuito Lombardo theatres, conducted by Nicola Luisotti; Les contes d'Hoffmann at the Comunale in Treviso under the baton of Peter Maag and F.Cilea’s Gina at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome (recorded for the label Bongiovanni) conducted by Christopher Franklin. 

In 2008 he conquered the audience and the critics in Rigoletto at the Arena di Verona (under the baton of Renato Palumbo), where he distinguished himself as one of the most interesting interpreters of the role of the Duca di Mantova. For this same role he was then invited to the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and with it he debuted at the Teatro alla Scala and at the Los Angeles Opera (conducted by James Conlon).

As Rodolfo in La bohéme he has already been guest of the Teatro Comunale in Florence, Comunale in Bologna, Massimo in Palermo, Regio in Turin, Frankfurt Oper, Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago and Grand Theatre in Shangai. Further roles for which he is particularly requested are Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (his last interpretations in this opera have been in Florence, Frankfurt, Avenches, Turin and Venice), Alfredo inLa Traviata (Verona, Venice and Naples) and Tonio in The Daughter of the Regiment (in Trieste in the original French version, in the Circuito Lombardo in the Italian one).

In 2010 he debuted in the title role of Roberto Devereux at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. He subsequently sang Rigolettoat the Los Angeles Opera and at the Teatro Regio in Turin, La bohèmeand Lucia di Lammermoorat the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

Among future engagements we are glad to mention La Traviata in Venice, Rigolettoin Tenerife, I puritani in the Circuito Lirico Lombardo, La bohèmeat the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Rigolettoin Verona, Lucia di Lammermoorat the San Carlo in Naples and La bohème– in concert form – at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Very importantly he will perform Alfredo in La Traviata which will be staged in 2012 by Opera Australia on Sydney Harbour.
